Terms

Last updated: 2026-05-24

Plain-English draft. Replace with attorney-reviewed terms before public launch.

1 · Who can use Amorelle

You must be at least 13 years old (or the digital-consent age where you live, whichever is higher) to use Amorelle. By creating an account you confirm you meet that threshold.

2 · Your content stays yours (user-generated content)

You own everything you create in Amorelle — chat messages, photos, voice notes, love letters, shared notes, quiz answers, mood check-ins, and memory-map pins ("Your Content"). You keep all ownership rights you already have in Your Content.

You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, transmit, encode, and display Your Content solely so we can operate and deliver the service to you and your paired partner. This license exists only for as long as Your Content is in the service and ends when you delete it or your account, except for backups that age out as described in our Privacy Policy. We don't claim ownership of Your Content, we don't sell or license it to anyone else, and we don't use it to build advertising profiles or to train machine-learning models.

You are responsible for Your Content. You represent that you own it or have the rights to share it, that it doesn't infringe anyone else's intellectual-property or privacy rights, and that you have consent from anyone depicted (for example, the partner you pair with). You — not Amorelle — are responsible for what you upload, send, and share.

Prohibited content. Don't upload or share content that: infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights; is unlawful, defamatory, or invasive of another person's privacy; depicts the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors; promotes violence, self-harm, or terrorism; or that you don't have the right to share. We may remove content that violates these terms and may suspend or terminate accounts involved.

3 · Acceptable use

Don't use Amorelle to:

  • harass, abuse, threaten, or impersonate anyone;
  • share content that's illegal where you or your partner live;
  • circumvent paywalls, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service;
  • interfere with the AI safety systems or attempt to use the AI to harm yourself or others.

Violations may result in account suspension or termination.

4 · Copyright and DMCA takedown

We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Because Amorelle content is private to a couple, infringing material is rarely public — but if you believe content in Amorelle infringes your copyright, you can send a takedown notice to our Designated Agent.

Your written notice must include: (1) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for them; (2) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (3) identification of the material claimed to be infringing and enough information for us to locate it; (4) your contact information (name, address, telephone, email); (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law; and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

On receipt of a valid notice we will remove or disable access to the material and notify the user who posted it. That user may submit a counter-notice; if they do, we may restore the material as permitted by the DMCA unless the complaining party files a court action. We may suspend or terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

DMCA Designated Agent

DMCA Agent, Amorelle
[PHYSICAL ADDRESS — placeholder, replace before launch]
[email protected]

The physical address above is a placeholder and must be replaced with a real address. The Designated Agent must also be registered with the U.S. Copyright Office at copyright.gov before this notice is effective.

5 · Reporting illegal content (EU Digital Services Act)

Amorelle is a private, one-to-one couples app: content is shared only between you and your paired partner and is not posted publicly or to any audience. Because of this private nature, there is no public feed to moderate. Even so, in line with the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065), we provide a way to notify us of allegedly illegal content or intellectual-property infringement.

If you are a user or third party in the EU and become aware of content in Amorelle that you believe is illegal or infringes your rights, you can submit a notice to [email protected] (you may also use [email protected]). To help us act, please include: (1) an explanation of why you consider the content illegal or infringing; (2) enough information for us to locate the content; (3) your name and contact email (unless the notice concerns child sexual abuse material); and (4) a statement that you submit the notice in good faith and believe the information is accurate and complete.

We will review valid notices in a timely, diligent, and non-arbitrary manner, confirm receipt where you provide contact details, and take appropriate action — which may include removing or disabling access to the content and notifying the affected user. Copyright complaints are handled under the DMCA process in Section 4.

6 · Pairing and partner data

When you pair with a partner, both of you can read everything you share inside the couple. If your partner deletes their account, your shared messages from them are removed; your own messages remain in your account until you delete it. If you delete your account, your partner sees that you've left, and your messages and shared media are removed permanently.

7 · Subscriptions and purchases

Amorelle is currently free. There are no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or paid features today, and we do not collect any payment information from you.

If we introduce paid features in the future, we will clearly disclose the price, the billing period, and any auto-renewal terms before you purchase. Any subscription would auto-renew at the disclosed price only after you affirmatively agree, and you will be able to cancel at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account — managing or canceling there stops future charges. We will not charge you for paid features without your clear, prior consent.

Wishlist links point to external retailers. We earn no commission and have no relationship with those sellers — any purchases there are between you and the retailer.

8 · AI features — important disclaimer

AI counseling, the mediator, and other AI features in Amorelle are not a substitute for professional therapy or medical care. They are conversational tools to help you reflect. If you're in crisis, please contact a local crisis line — the app surfaces these automatically when our system detects distress, and a list is in Support.

9 · Service availability

We try hard to keep Amorelle available 24/7 but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may pause the service for maintenance, security, or to fix bugs. If we discontinue Amorelle, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and provide a way to export your data.

10 · Disclaimers and liability

Amorelle is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in any 12-month period will not exceed the amount you paid us in that period (or USD 50, whichever is greater).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. for fraud, gross negligence, or death/personal injury).

11 · Termination

You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account, or amorelle.ai/delete-account). We may terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law. We'll provide a reason where we can.

12 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's jurisdiction. Disputes go to the courts there, unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country applies instead.

13 · Changes

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app and by email 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the updated terms.
